Cork is a 100% natural material of plant origin from the bark of cork oaks.

Its main characteristics are its lightness and its great insulating power, which derives from its rich composition in suberin, a fatty substance that accumulates in the walls of cork cells.

It is therefore a material impervious to liquids and gases, anti-static and hypoallergenic, which has led to its use by the aeronautical industry.

The extraction of cork from cork oaks is done in such a way as not to harm the normal development of the trees and is carried out with the care necessary for their survival.

The first cork harvest takes place when the tree is between 25 and 30 years old and thereafter every 9 years.

Currently, cork is widely used in the manufacture of musical instruments, in the fashion and footwear industry, in decoration, floor covering and also in the industrial sector.
